Hemp Oil Early Results Report
Twice on GIM I saw reports on health benefits from hemp oil, so I decided to try it.
I'm on day 3 of mixing a teaspoon in yogurt and eating it. Note: no heating of the organic, cold pressed seed oil. I have been having some arthritis and from day 1 my symptoms of mild stiffness and moderate pain dropped like a rock. I was frankly astounded. Today my wife decided to try it. (She is generally not health food oriented, but noticed my higher energy and she said I was noticably moving better, which I had thought I had not lost movement noticably. oh well.) She had rheumatic fever as a child and has had joint pain since age 3. Her first teaspoon she reports alleviated hand stiffness and pain and knee and shoulder pain and increased range of movement in her shoulders. I can add she is notably more energetic and cheerful. If you are interested in trying health food regimins, this one is easy and not very expensive. I ordered from here http://www.mynaturalmarket.com/advan...780eaa&x=0&y=0 and got prompt service on a phone order though I had to leave a message and get a call back. Tip - until I hit the # as requested after my message I got no call back, so that might matter. I have not tried this source, but it has good prices for 3lb bags of the leafy protein product http://www.mynaturalmarket.com/advan...780eaa&x=0&y=0 I took the protein powder day 1 and 2 and got stronger results, but decided to see how my gut liked the 20% fiber content before using more. Oil alone I would assess at 75% of the benefit. I used 1 tablespoon of the powder. It tastes less like mowing your yard with your teeth than wheatgrass, but is still a strong flavor. Because dairy is not good for my wife she made 'green toast', using the oil on toasted but cooled diabetic ok toast with diabetic ok preserves over the top to hide the flavor. I figure health is the ultimate survival prep. One of the uses I saw a vid about here on GIM was direct application of the oil as a treatment for skin cancer. Living in a sunny area all our lives we will be candidates in time for that. I can give no report on that use personally, but it intrigued me. |

Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
So how did it work for you? Did you notice health changes? With natural products I generally expect a range of responses as we are not paint by number kits and likely have a variety of nutritional strengths and weaknesses.
edit - posted while you did G. See your results later. Good pdf there.. it does mention the help with arthritis, but I was amazed how much it has helped so far. Maybe it will not stay at this high level, but so far it rocks. |

I eat the Nutiva hemp seeds mixed in vanilla yogurt a few days a week for breakfast, good stuff! I also use a hemp seed oil soap that is just fantastic ( Dr. Bronners ). In fact I placed an order for a gallon on Friday from Vitacost.com, my first order from them, I hope all goes well as their prices are really good. |
Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report

Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
hemp oil internally has numerous healthy benefits. if you want topical relief, I have been making this simple remedy for years and it works AMAZING:
16oz EMU Oil 1/8oz Cannabis Flowers Heat emu oil in a double broiler, and let dried, ground cannabis flowers saturate in with the emu oil for an hour. After heating thoroughly, strain through cheesecloth to remove plant material. Let cool, bottle for storage. This topical anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial miracle will not only relieve your arthritis pain immediately on contact it will also heal cuts, scrapes and burns faster and reduce/eliminate scarring. The emu oil is one of the most penetrative oils with natural anti-inflammatory qualities. Coupled with the anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial qualities of THC it is the ultimate combination. I rub some on my hands when I wake up and within a minute my stiff fingers are limber and ready for the keyboard olympics. It does not offer any psychoactive benefits.. but for this specific application (any time of the day relief) this is a positive, IMO. Try it on your sore muscles, achy joints, itchy scratches and throbbing burns! Better than anything else I have ever used. |

Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
Preferring to stay out of legal trouble even of laws I want changed, I will likely try the arnica version. Thanks! And all the more reason to be glad when decriminalization comes.
Update. It is still working, but not as dramatically. It reminds me of once in my college days, having eaten dorm cafeteria food for several years, taking a B vitamin. I was so deficient the vitamin's action was explosive. Later, I felt better with than without, but it wasn't jaw dropping. I seem to hurt a little less each day, but it isn't as dramatic. My mood, energy, and I think my metabolism are now responding. I'm very much less hungry. I want food less often and less of it, but have more energy. These changes are more subtle, but long term probably very good. |

Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
I got my oil today and I took some about 1 hour ago and It does seem to help with my joint pain. It seemed that about 10 minutes after taking it I felt some of the aches and stiffness go. I will let you know in a few days if it is really helping or not - so far it seems to help?

Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
I bought a bottle of Living Green hemp seed oil from the health food store. I take a tablespoon of hemp seed oil and a tablespoon of flax seed oil everyday. Straight from the spoon, like cough syrup.
Both oils have very neutral and subtle tastes. I like em both. These oils will help with your good cholesterol (HDL) levels. I find that these oils, along with ginger (in a juice or pickled sushi style), acts as a natural viagra. Think morning wood that could put out someone's eye. |
Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
if i know hemp *ahem* i would think the short term affects cure all that ails but the long term ones don't do much for ya =P. Don't get me wrong any pain killer that works is worth it's its weight gold.

Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
These reports coming in....are AWESOME!
Most people don't realize just how much the body needs a fat. One teaspoon from the proper source is worth 10000x bags of dorritos...not that I imagine you people eat that stuff. |
Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
How would taking this oil effect a urine test?

Here is a link and info from the Nutiva website: http://nutiva.com/faq/faq_hemp.php Q. If I recently consumed hemp foods, could I fail a drug test? A. If the only source of the psychoactive THC in your body is from hemp foods, produced from Canadian grown hemp seeds and eaten in reasonable quantities, it is virtually impossible to fail a drug test by ingesting hemp foods due to the fact that THC levels in our products are barely measurable. The TestPledge program is a voluntary commitment by the North American hemp food industry to limit THC concentrations to levels where they cannot result in positive drug tests. Nutiva joined the TestPledge program in 2001. Nutiva's hemp food products meet Canadian government and TestPledge standards for hemp foods. We recommend that you read the TestPledge Answers page first. If you need more technical information please download and read the study summary "Evaluating Interference of THC in Hemp Food Products With Employee Drug Testing," which was prepared by Gero Leson, D.Env. and Petra Pless. Please click here to download. (PDF file 21k) 10-17-07 Here is a recent e-mail we received about Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein powder and drug testing from a Department of Defense employee: I work for the Department of Defense and was finally selected for random urinalysis after 18 years. I wasn't the least bit worried - until that night when I went home to fix a fruit shake in which I use your hemp protein powder. As I took it out of the refrigerator, it suddenly occurred to me that it has a very small amount of THC in it. Having been a drug/alcohol abuse officer in the Air Force years ago, I understood the potential implications, including the fact that THC is detectable far longer than many drugs of abuse. I called Nutiva the next day, and was told that because you can't ever know what other behaviors a customer may be engaging in, you cannot say for certain that your products could not cause a positive urinalysis for THC. However, I was assured that it was HIGHLY unlikely by itself - especially the protein powder because of the way it's processed (i.e. lower oil content than some other products). I promised to provide you with feedback either way my test turned out. My understanding is that the Department of Defense uses state-of-the-art testing. I passed, despite using your hemp protein powder multiple times every week for months. I know it's no guarantee, but it may relieve others who are not using illegal substances but who may be using your products, and become concerned about drug testing. Thanks. |
Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
Please forgive me for being dense regarding this...
IF not THC, what is the healing, nutritive ingredient in hemp that causes this miracle in healing. Is the resin the medicine? I defer to Rick Simpson (Run from the Cure), and his recent research, before that was curtailed by the Cannuck Corp/Guv. Please help me with this... |
Re: Hemp Oil Early Results Report
Hemp oil is high in Omega 3 EFA's (Essential Fatty Acids). I am sure there are other compounds present as well. Check out this essay on Omega 3 from U. of Maryland Medical Center. Joint health is among the things your body needs Omega 3 for.
As far as I am aware there is 0% THC in hemp seeds, but I am sure minute quantities can make it in through contact. The outside of the seeds would have small a small amount of flower resin on them. You have to remember though that even the flowers themselves of Cannabis strains grown for industrial use have contain very little THC. |
